Advantage of aluminum double glazed doors and windows against all types of UPVC

The galvanized form is provided, which is sometimes used for UPVC waste profiles due to concealment in the final product. The strength of aluminum profiles is many times that of a UPVC profile. Aluminum metal has aesthetic properties, high durability, paintability and many other properties. In the past few years, unfortunately, regardless of the specific climatic conditions of the country, compared to European countries, PVC doors and windows profiles have been imported or produced in the country, due to the lack of technical and scientific knowledge and advertising. False and, of course, widespread fever among some consumers and took part in the consumer market in the construction industry and the supply of doors, windows and glass facades. But it will not be long before the level of consumer awareness and science and experiences of using this type of doors, windows and facade coverings and the occurrence of problems due to the passage of time created in the PVC consumer market can be touched and observed quickly and in a very noticeable way. .

Despite the known problems and the consequences of using PVC in the construction of doors and windows and its application in the appearance of buildings, another discussion was opened among some manufacturers of this product in order to maintain the PvC consumer market and that is to replace doors and windows with materials. And UPVC was a substitute for PVC, while 90% of what is on the market is not essentially UPVC because the price of UPVC is at least twice the price of PVC, which is not affordable for most consumers and is not economical.

Much has been written and discussed about the differences between UPVC and aluminum doors and windows.

But if we want to summarize the contents in this field and make it concise and useful, we can mention the following:

  1. Strength and flexural strength: In order for a window or door, especially in the dimensions that are considered to be bigger and wider in the designs, and also due to the high weight of double-glazed glass, to have its proper performance, a certain amount of flexural strength and power is needed. It is instantly recognizable by comparing two sections of aluminum window with special profile and 6063 alloy and a UPVC window. Most of the strength of UPVC profiles is provided by a galvanized U-shaped profile, which is sometimes shortened in quality due to the concealment of the final product. Therefore, the flexural strength of an aluminum profile is clearly many times that of a UPVC profile.
  2. Hardness: These characteristics of products are understood in its use and especially over time. Aluminum is 27 times harder than UPVC, which makes it a significant advantage over aluminum over UPVC. However, the hardness of UPVC is so low that even wood is 4 times harder than UPVC.
  3. Joints: In UPVC windows, connections are provided only in the outer and visible parts, especially in the corners with the welding system. This is not the case even with galvanized U-profiles that run all over the profile. In aluminum windows, relying on several common connections, especially screw and rivet fittings, as well as punching using solid aluminum pieces, the connection power is extremely high and incomparably high.
  4. Installation of fittings:

Despite the very similarity in the fittings of both systems and the variety of different brands, in this regard, hinges, handles and other fittings in UPVC windows are mounted directly on profiles of the same material, which due to high weight and repeated use over time as profile elements at the joint. The screw is weaker and so-called open, which as a result of this action we see a lot of sash and other deformations in the UPVC window, which happens much less in aluminum because the fittings are attached directly to the aluminum metal.

  1. Sliding systems: The high friction and bending nature of UPVC particles has caused problems and has caused the production of sliding doors and windows made of UPVC very little and almost most reputable companies in this field do not produce such a product. Of course, some companies use fittings called so-called (Volkswagen) to produce this product, which is not given much attention in front of aluminum sliding doors and windows that do not have these problems.
  2. Paintability: UPVC is basically not dyeable and to produce color products, colored granules must be added when producing profiles, in a limited range of colors, which is difficult and not recommended and clearly reduces the quality of the profile. While electrostatic powder paints with extraordinary variety provide more than 200 different colors to consumers of aluminum profiles that are hardened in the furnace and are anti-impact and anti-mold. In addition, the variety and beauty of another coating and painting system, ie anodizing, can only be extracted in aluminum. In other coating systems, such as wood and stone designs, etc., which are also called decorative, in the case of UPVC profiles, it is provided by a sticker or label, but in the case of aluminum profiles with printed colors and hardening in the furnace, it is durable and beautiful.
  3.  Fire resistance: Deformed at low temperatures, it loses its shape. At relatively slightly higher temperatures, it also melts and burns completely, in which case the smoke from the burn is suffocating and poisonous. Fire also destroys doors and windows. But aluminum also retains its shape and material at high temperatures, and only at very high temperatures, where almost all components of the building are destroyed, aluminum is destroyed, not all at once, but gradually.
  4. Capital goods: UPVC is not recycled in any way and is a harmful product for the natural cycle of the environment. But aluminum, as a high-consumption natural element, is priced after even a few centuries and is seen as a capital commodity and can be easily recycled and reproducible at low cost.
  5. Resistance to climatic conditions:

It also loses its quality over a period of natural temperatures. That is, at the above-normal temperature mentioned above, and also in the natural cold, it deforms, or it hardens and cracks and becomes brittle. UPVC also changes color and yellowing in the sun, even if the UV coatings, the quality of which can not be tested for the consumer and have become more beautiful and advertising sentences, even if used properly, ensure reliable performance and durability. Has not shown experience. This is in the context that the resistance of aluminum to the above climatic conditions is obvious and does not need to be explained.

10- Energy loss:

The most obvious advantage of UPVC over aluminum, which often causes pride and erosion, is its low heat transfer coefficient, which, of course, is lost despite the thermal break product of aluminum. However, it is good to measure the difference between the energy dissipation of a UPVC product and a non-thermal product of aluminum breaker and in fact ordinary.

The greatest energy loss in doors and windows is due to their lack of ventilation and the air blinds they create. The above two products, if properly manufactured, are both airtight. Secondly, 90% of the surface of the door and window is made of glass, which in both cases is the same double-glazed glass and there is no difference between them. Therefore, the difference between two similar products is only where about 5% of the surface can be. That is, if we assume the maximum heat transfer coefficient of aluminum and the heat transfer coefficient of UPVC, for example, zero (which of course is not the case), the loss of a normal and non-thermal aluminum window breaker can be up to 5% less than UPVC. This amount is correct, and it is a number that is almost negligible in terms of proportion.
